Join us for a day of food and art as Art Land takes up resident at Wear Valley Food Festival (the largest food festival in the North East) on Saturday 18th April:
As well as all the current Art Land works on display, the following events will also be taking place:
Rachel Clarke: No Place Like Home
Market Place 10am – 4pm
From a small shed comes a strange cacophony of familiar cooking and eating sounds. Look inside the windows to see a homely interior and maybe witness those taking part in this unusual dinner party.
Carol Sommer and Paul Jex: Horror Asparagus Stories
Auckland Castle: 10am – 4pm
Carol and Paul invite visitors to the Food Festival to take a moment to relax, have a seat, pop on a pair of headphones and enjoy listening to song of their choice that could have been inspired by food or drink.
Hannah Marsden: Welcome to Bishop Auckland
InShops :73 – 77 Newgate Street 10am – 4pm
Over the past few weeks Hannah has been getting to know the different traders at Inshops.
On the 18th of April she will produce 100 Welcome Mats with designs influenced by her discussions with the traders. The work is inspired by the production of welcome mats Hannah witnessed on the streets of Kolkata, India and will be on display from the 19th – 26th April.
Kate Stobbart: Stitch
Tut n’Shive, Newgate Street 12noon – 6pm
Relax and enjoy a drink at the bar as Kate and her team of seamstresses stitch a piece of artwork into an item of your clothing, just be careful which artwork you select…
